Its been a long time!

Wow! I actually have not posted here for about 4 months now! The past few months have been so busy. Where should I start? Well I went back to my old job in October after a year long maternity leave. (Yup, In Norway we get a year long maternity leave - with salary!)
It took me some time getting used to the whole working life thing again. Getting up early, delivering my DS to the kindergarten, commute on the train, work for some hours , then commute back home , picking up DS in the kindergarten , strolling him home , making dinner , eat when my DH arrives from his work. Then playtime, then its nity night for my DS and then tidying up the house and nity night for myself. Not much time to blog there right?

After three weeks back in work my whole department were called in to a meeting (we are about 30 persons), there we were told that they would shut us down so we had 6 months to find new work. So I did. After just a few weeks searching I found the dream job (I think) and I started working there in January. Its been a lot of new stuff to learn, but I really like the job I do now. So maybe after all it was not such a bad idea that they shut us down?

So that whats been going on in my life for the past months. Oh and when I have had the time to relax in front of my computer I have been playing poker. :blush: It actually is quite fun. I have never been to Auckland, actually I have never been to New Zealand at all. From cold little Norway in the north it is a long way to travel to visit New Zealand, but it is very tempting and I think it is like a dream to many norwegians to visit New Zealand at least once during their lifes.

For several days now I have been searching for my wallet, it was gone - totally gone. I was pretty sure that I had not lost it while I was on the mall, so I knew it had to be in the house somewhere - but WHERE?!?!
Well after searching the house, every avialble cupboard - beeing afraid of me throwing it in the garbage by accident, I finally foundt it. Can you guess where? In the corner under my 1 year old son's bed! How did it manage to end up there?!? My guess is that my little angel of a son has been playing around with it ;) Oh well I am just happy that it is finally found and that I dont have to get new credit cards, that would have taken weeks...

Dreaming about Paris

Nothing is more romantic than a weekend at one of the many Hotels in Paris, I guess I am only one of many womans around the world dreaming of their husband to come home with two tickets to Paris and a brochure from one of the best Paris Hotels aviable.

I have actually been visiting Paris two times earlier, but in my opinion these two times does not "count". The first time I was only fifteen years old and I was on a language trip to England. On our way home we spent two days in Paris, one of them in Disneyland. The other time I visited Paris we actually only spent time in Disneyland so we didnt see any of the beautiful sights of Paris. So you might see why I want to see the "real" Paris.

So my big hope now Is that my hubby reads this and comes home with tickets to Paris on my next birthday ;)

In the meantime I will have a look at these Hôtels en Paris and wish I was there.

Hey guys!

I am so sorry for not beeing able to post for a month. We had some serious computer issues here, but they seem to be sorted out now.

Seems like I have been banned from PayU2blog , since I have not been able to log in to my account for the last month.

So whats new? Its only 10 days left until my dear son turns 1 year. I cannot beleive that the last year has gone by in such a rush! On September 19th he will have his first day in Kindergarden and I will go back to work in the beginning of October. I wish I had the opportunity to be a Stay at Home Mum, but unfortunately we cannot afford it right now, but maybe one day in the future?

Enough for now, I will soon be posting again!

My next post will actually be my tenth PayPerPost post, and I have been waiting for this moment a long time. When that post is approved I can finally submit another blog into the PayPerPost system.

I have been waiting for months to submit my other blog MyManyThoughts. This is a self hosted blog, and I hope this one will get me a bigger variety of opportunities to choose from. Catching up

The last few days I have been trying to catch up with my paid post assignments, so if you think there have been a post or two too many about addiction treatment and similar topics I am truly sorry. Both me and my husband loves England, I have visited London 4 times, and also been on vacation in Torquay and Colchester, my husband has visited London togheter with me two times, and he really wants to go back. The last trip we had to London in 2004 we actually stayed there for 8 days. But somehow you never get enough of London, there are always things to see and to do there. I love London!

As I have told you earlier I do have some extra kilos that I need to loose. I know that eating healthy and excercise on a regular basis is the best cure for overweight and I am trying to do that.
By surfing the internet you end up getting a lot of information about different ways of loosing weight. I just came over information about a diet patch, I didnt even know that something like that existed! According to the website it will boost your metabolism and suppress my apetite. The website also states that Oprah is one of the many celebrities that have been associated with the patch.

I know that you guys in America have tons of TV channels to choose from, well here in Norway we dont have that luxury, we have 4 "main" channels and a couple of sport and movie channels offered to us. I just found out that in September a new TV channels is going to launch, this one is for woman only (ok men are allowed to watch but there will be only topics that interests most woman).
It will be TV shows, TV series and movies that are apealling to the female watchers, I must admit that it will be nice with a TV channel that are official free for sport and talk about cars and auto accessories.

As a woman this is quite unusual, at least here in Norway. Not many women like to play poker here in Norway, but I do. I really think it is a fun and challenging game, and you might find me at online poker tables as well as real life poker tables. The most fun is to play with family. I am the only woman in our family that likes to play poker, so in the weekends when we are at our cabin I end up playing poker with my husband, father in law and brother in law, and it turns out that I am actually good at it.

Loosing someone close to you

Shopping like a madman

Yup that is what I have been doing the last few weeks. I have been suffering from scrappers block for some months now and I figured that the only good solution to this was to shop for scrapbook supplies, so now packages from all kind of scrapbooking stores start coming in. The includes paper, cardstock , gel pens , brads , rubons , stickers , eyelets , flowers and I guess you know the picture by now.

Wow, the time flies by so fast. I cant belive that we already are in July! Tomorrow my niece will celebrate her 10th birthday. I cannot belive that she is 10 years old. She was born only a couple of months after I started dating my husband, and I cant even believe that we have been dating for 10 years.
Before I even know it we will celebrate our son's 10th birthday. Someone please pause the time just a little bit!

Yesterday I was in the park togheter with my son and a lot of other mothers with babies the same age as my son. Of course I forgot to put on sun cream. But when I am reading english books the authors write about for example California bed and breakfast like it is something really romantic. Maybe it is? I have been wondering about this for a while. Somehow I find myself dreaming about Australia from time to time. For me, living in Scandinavia Australia is practiaclly on the other side of the world, and it sounds really exotic for me.

Busy days

I see now that my days are going to be a lot more busier. My dear 9 month old son has learned to crawl and to stand up. So now he wants to explore every little corner of our apartement. He seems to have a special love for his fathers Godfather DVD collection. The baby start learning early lol. So whenever he is not sleeping or we are out in the good weather we are running after him and make sure he does not break something or hurt himself. But he is so sweet and so happy for himself right now.

Hot weather

Wow the past few weeks have been really warm here in Norway. I know I should not complain at all. (Not if you remember my post in February, you can read it here.) Well I can for sure tell you that the weather now is much,much better.
Actually I think it is a bit too hot, I would have loved the nights to be a bit more cooler, it is much easier to sleep then. But it is really nice spending the days on our pavement or at the beach. I am really happy that I am not to go back to work again before October.

Girly things

Even though I am 27 years old and a mother I am still fond of these nice little girly things like Makeup Mirrors, Purses , Shoes etc. I think I always will. I love shopping for purses, and I seem to find a purse that I just "need" wherever I am.
On my vacation to Greece last month I found this great purse the last day of our vacation. But I didnt buy it, because I thought it was a little too expensive. Well guess who regrets now? So my morale is; If you ever get the urge to buy yourself a purse - Do it! And do not be ashamed for loving all those nice girly things. I am sure I am not!

Some PPP Love!

It is about one month since I finally got approved by Pay Per Post. I must admit that I actually waited for that day since I started my blog.
As far as I know Pay Per Post is one of the biggest and leading companies that let companies advertise on blogs.

Since I got approved by Pay Per Post I have earned $42 spread out on 5 different posts. I guess I would have done more posts, but beeing on vacation for two weeks left me a bit behind on my posts.

I love to listen to music, I think I am an alrounder when it comes to what I like to listen to, but pop/rock has a special place in my heart.
There is one band, an Irish band called Ash I have been digging for over 10 years. I think I have been to almost all the concerts that they have had here in Norway, and I know for sure that if they come back to Norway I will be the first in line to buy concert tickets to their concert.

Cabin vacation

Ok I admit that I am still in vacation mode. After two weeks in the sun, at a beach hotel I am now thinking how nice it would be to relax in the mountains. A cabin vacation would be really nice. I stumbeled into this website offering Pigeon Forge vacation rentals and WOW they have some nice luxury cabins. I wish I could afford that, someday I actually might do that. My in-laws have a cabin in the mountain here in Norway, and during the summer we are thinking about visiting it for a couple of weekends. The air in the mountain are soo good for relaxing and undwinding!

Men and golf

What is it with men and golf? My boyfriend has been talking about how much he wants to play golf for years now. My brother did the same thing. Somehow they do not want to start playing before they have bought themselves a full set of Golf Equipment. Men seems to want to have the equipment in order before they start golfing. I suggested that they might wanted to try it out before bying themself the equipment, but no they need the equipment to try it out. I suspect that they use a lot of money on top equipment only to play golf a couple of times a year. Oh well...

I am already in a job, but during my pregnancy and after my son has been born I've been thinking more and more about a carreer change. To change my carreer I need to do some more education. I am finally back from vacation. Two weeks in Greece was really refreshing for me and my family.
Somehow I always end up wanting another vacation when I am back from one. So I already find myself dreaming about these vacation home Orlando.
I will tell you more about the vacation later when I have done all the unpacking and all the pending assignments I have from various paid to blog companies.

Dreaming about Hawaii

When I have some spare time and nothing special to do I sometimes like to sit down and dream about visiting exotic places. One of the places I have always wanted to visit is Hawaii. For me, a norwegian Hawaii sounds really exotic, just the thought of laying on the beach under a palm tree like the one in the picture above makes me smile.

I always end up surfing on the internet to find more information about the places I want to visit. In this case I try to find travel reports about Hawaii and I am trying to find great deals on hawaiian vacation packages. Maybe if I find a really good deal I can talk my husband into coming along with me?

I had a cd stuck in my player yesterday. Has that ever happened to you? I was ready to crash test the thing or use it for some sports event. What a stupid quote that would make, football team using cd player for hitting practice. Anyway, after messing around with the player for awhile I finally went out and did a search to see what I could find to get a disc out. A special day

Tomorrow is a very special day. It is the 17th of May. The national day of Norway. This will be my sons very first 17th of May celebration and I cant wait.
We will have a long morning inside first, then we will go and see my niece and nephew that plays in a band. And in the evening we will visit my husbands sister and her family for a barbecue. It will be so much fun. I really hope the weather will be nice.

Before going on vacation I need to clean the house. Why? Well because I hate coming home from vacation to a dirty and clutterly house. In only one week we are going on vacation to Greece. We booked the vacation in December, so I have been waiting for the time to come for quite some time.
Now I try to figure out what to bring. With a 8 month old baby we need to bring more than we did before we had a baby.
We need diapers, baby food , travel bed and a stroller. And of course a lot of clothes etc. I guess it will look like we are about to move.

In the ArchitecturalClassics.com blog you will find a lot of interesting and amusing posts. In March they postes this post about the 7 Biggest Chandeliers in the World. I just have to say; WOW! Those are some really big and spectactular chandeliers!

You will find the holder of the first place in the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Oman. It actually weighs as much as 8,5 tons. It is 8 meters high and 14 meters long so it is quite big (it should be though, after all it is the worlds largest chandelier). You can actually compare its size with a five-story apartement block.

The holder of the second place is situated in the Kocatepe Mosque in Ankara, Turkey. This one weighs 7,5 tons and is 5,5 meters in diameter. A fun fact is that it is only the skeleton of the chandelier that is gold plated, if the chandelier was made of pure gold it would have streched and broken down a long time ago.

Two of the 7 Biggest Chandeliers in the World is actually situated in Turkey, it is the second place that I wrote about just above , and it is the fift place in the Dolmabahçe palace in Istanbul. Congratulations to Turkey!

I need a vacation

The thought of a Florida vacation seems really appealing right now. Right now I have a big urge to go on a vacation.

Because of my pregnancy and me giving birth to our son in September last year I did not have the opportunity to go on vacation last year. Usually I go on vacation abroad at least twice a year. So I have not been on vacation since November 2005 - that is a long time for me.

In this blog I do a few paid posts. It helps on the income. Living expenses here in Norways is quite high, so almost everything of my family's regular income goes into paying bills and buying food and diapers. How strange is that? It is already April 1st today. The sky is blue, the sun is shining and it is over 10 degrees outside.
I also gets a little stressed out over the fact that the summer is lurking around the corner. I am not ready at all, how can I show myself in bikini yet? More weight loss issues

I wrote in another post that I need to loose some kilos. I suffer from high blood pressure, and I think and hope that my blood pressure issue will be better if I loose some weight.

There are a lot of people who suffer from drug addiction. Both celebrities and common people.
Oslo, the capital in my home country, Norway flourishes with drug addicts. Most of the people living on the street in Oslo are actually addicted to drugs.
I keep wondering why they let themselves end up like that? Why are they doing such things to themselves, don't they know how bad it is for their bodies?
Celebrities have enough money to get into drug rehab if their problems get too big, but those poor homeless people cannot do that, and without a way to get out of it, they are getting even deeper into the problem. Makes me sad to think about.

Weekend Getaway?

I think the concept of weekend getaways are very American, I see it in American movies and American TV Series. Somehow I have always thought it seems so romantic.
The happy (or sometimes not so happy) couple stays at an Bed and Breakfast in the countryside.

My favorite hobby is scrapbooking. I have been scrapbooking for for 3 years. When I started with this hobby in 2004 I did not have any kids yet, so most of my scrapbook layouts were about vacations and friends.

During the six months that have gone by since my son was born I have taken hundreds of photos. I have not had the time to start on his album yet, but I cant wait to do that. At least I know there will be a long time until I get out of pictures.

One of the fun part with scrapbooking is all the nice things you can use on the layouts. I love shopping papers and embellishments, so I figured I would set up a list with y top ten favorite embellishments. If you have this hobby too, why dont you go ahead and make your own list? Rubons - I love those alphabet rubons.
Brads - I always have some brads on my layouts.
Flowers - I have totally fallen in love with those paper flowers.
Buttons - Nice to use on the paper flowers, I have also used them to frame in photos.
Eyelets - Eyelets are classic, always good to have and I use them on many layouts. Also good to secure vellum.
Ribbon - I love to use ribbons, there are so many different types of ribbons you can get. And it gives the layouts the perfect touch.
Ink - Somehow I cant seem to make a page without inking the photo mats or the text boxes.
3D stickers - Those 3d stickers from Jolee’s are beautiful.
Die Cuts - Die cuts are nice on the layouts. I love my Quick Kutz machine.
Glue dots - Maybe not an embellishment , but I always have to have my glue dots near.

Puerto Mogan

In October 2005 me , my boyfriend and my parents in law went on a vacation to Gran Canary. We stayed in Anfi Del Mar where my parents in law own an apartment.
That is such a great place. Anfi Del Mar resort is situated between Arguinegin and Puerto Rico.

One day during our vacation we decided to rent a car and drive around the island. Thats when we discovered Puerto Mogan. I just love this place, and I cant wait to go back there. There was so many great motives to take pictures of. This picture I actually had to dodge a car to get lol.

Crazy weather

For the last week the weather has been crazy here in Norway.
We are used to a lot of snow, but the last week it has been a little to much I think.

Last Wednesday a train went off track in the middle of "nowhere" because of all the snow. Luckily no persons got hurt, but everybody had to wait for several hours before anybody were able to evacuate them to the nearest train station.

Last week almost a tousand persons were "snowed in" on a road between two cities. It snowed so much that they had to evacuate all the people out of their cars and to a nearby school. Some of the people were actually stuck in their cars for as much as 20 hours before they got evacuated.

Ok, we are used to heavy snow here in Norway, but this bad? This is just crayzy.

It is time for the flu!

Here in Norway there are now flu season. I had the flu last year and it was horrible! (I also was 8 weeks pregnant and attacked by morning sickness so the week I had the flu was the worst ever lol!)
Because I had the flu last year I am hoping not to catch it this year. But you never knows right?

I have been searching the internet for some tips on how to avoid catching the flu. The most important thing to remember is to wash your hands, make sure to wash your hands often. Escpesially before eating. Do not touch your face and the area around your mouth if you not have washed your hands.

So what to do if you or someone in your family catches the flu?
Drink a lot of water. It is best to drink often but just a little each time. You should try to avoid lemonade and soda because the sugar in these drinks only makes the symptoms of the flu harder.

There are also a tons of other advices around the internet , but as far as I know these are the two most important things to remember.

Good luck in the flu season. I hope you avoid it!

Vacation in Greece

I have always loved to travel. At least twice a year I go on vacation , either with my family or with my friends.

My best friends and I usually goes to one vacation each autumn. Usually we go to a european city for a weekend , and our main goals are to eat good food , shop and have fun.
